ROLCC’s first branch in Senegal was established in June 2012, located in Senegalese capital city of Dakar. Pastor Matthias, formerly responsible for the youth ministry of the ROLCC in Togo, who was sent by ROLCC Togo to pray in Senegal in early 2012. Under the inspiration of God, he decided to set up a branch church as a base for evangelism. Senegalese State is located on the westernmost part of the African continent, first introduced to Islam in the 11th century and became a French colony in 1864. Senegalese nationality was completely independent on 20 June 1960. Senegal's economy is dominated by agriculture, fisheries, mining, and industry. Its industrialization is higher than that of other West African countries and is now one of the countries with the fastest economic growth in the world. Today, 95% of Senegalnationals are Muslims. When spreading evangelism to Muslims, they often faced persecution and many difficulties. ManyMuslims, after they were converted to Christianity, encountered difficulties in confronting their families and the society, and were often driven out of their homes, so the church and pastor's home became their only refuge, and their material and spiritual support. There is great pressure and burden on Pastor Matthias and their families who are newimmigrants to the country themselves. However, through the grace of God, in a short span of several years the church has set up several groups in different locations, and despite the global spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, it is still growing. Pastor Matthias is a passionate and visionary pastor who actively expands the kingdom of God in Africa. He is not only the pastor of the Senegal branch, but also the head of the ROLCC Africa ROLY conference organizer. As of 2024, Pastor Matthias has led the Senegal team to establish three branches, and looks forward to expanding the fourth branch this year. In addition, Pastor Matthias also assists in the work of other branches in Africa. This year he will also go to South Africa as a representative to assist and understand the local gospel outreach work. Pray for God’s continued guidance and grace to continue to expand the realm of Pastor Matthias and the Senegalese team, remove all obstacles, and enable Senegal and the whole world to hear the gospel.

As Africa’s youngest president, sworn in on April 2, 2024, ask God to protect them and grant them wisdom and strategies to unite the Senegalese people, promote economic reforms, and foster an environment friendly to Christian gospel outreach.
